What is Minecraft?

Minecraft is a Sandbox game originally written by Markus "Notch" Persson in the programming language java. As of now Minecraft is part of the company Mojang created by Markus Persson. The game is a so-called independent game. In this game a world is generated which is completely made up of blocks. The user can break these blocks and replace them to create amazing structures. While Minecraft is still in Beta right now the official release for it is planned for the 11th of September 2011. Minecraft features singleplayer as well as a multiplayer mode, in which the user may coordinate his or her structures with others and several users may build simultaneously in realtime.

Why Taphite's Minecraft server?

Taphite.com is officially hosting a Minecraft Server at this time. This is a so-called Build Server, controlled by a Premium Whitelist. This means that the main focus of the game is to freely and creatively build structures without interference, and only registered users can connect. The user has a wide possibility of commands at hand making it much easier to create structures. The user is able to spawn blocks of any types and use them to create buildings (there are some limitations which can be found in the Rules section).

The Term of Use

By entering the server, you automatically agree to the following rules and that you know the consequences of not following them. If you break one, this will result inkick, ban or change of Rank. If you are unsure of anything please do not hesitate to ask an Admin. 

1. You may never destroy anything that someone else has built (griefing), including roads, without advanced permission by either phliblib or PandaK551. 
2. If you decide to place one of your creations in the viewable distance of another creation (default Render Distance being "Normal"), you must either contact the Owner of this building or one of the Admins (phliblib or PandaK551), for permission to do so. 
3. Trying to hack the server will result in the reporting of your IP Address to State officials. 
4. Be respectful to other members on the server. Be sure to use respectful language and avoid any racist and/or sexist terms. You're religion may be shown in private construction unless followers of other Religions feel insulted in anyway. 
5. Significant changes to the landscape (such as removing a Mountain or filling a lake) without advanced permission by the Admins will result in one of the punishments named above. 
6. Do not steal from other users chest, or do not take their users items when they die. 
7. If PvP (Player versus Player) is enabled do not attack other users without permission by either the user himself or one of the Admins. 
8. Creations with TNT or Bedrock/Adminium will be removed, unless permission to create such is given by one of the Admins.

How can I join Taphite's Minecraft server?

Since this server is a Premium whitelist server, joining is not as easy. As of now you need to write an e-mail to contact@taphite.com containing pictures or links to pictures of your own creations. If the pictures send are not of creations originally created by you, you will be put on the blacklist, making it unable for you ever to join this server. To finally join the server's main world you will need to prove yourself in a so-called Guest-Zone. If you follow the Rules and your creations are accepted by the Admins, joining the main world will be easier.
